In 2016, our lives changed forever when we became a foster family for a 2-year-old little girl.

After adjusting to being first time parents while seeing the deep impact of trauma on everyone involved, we realized the importance of having the support of a loving community. Two and a half years (and one adoption) later, we became foster parents for a second time - this time to a newborn baby boy. Thrown into a completely different situation, we came to understand the role of the biological family and the complex relationships that can exist as we try to show love and respect. We learned the importance of coming alongside these kids and their families from prevention to permanency.

We are so blessed to have become a forever family in 2020 with the adoption of our son, and to continue sharing encouragement with others through our journey and our work at BCS Together.

Our Mission

BCS Together ensures no one has to care for kids alone by providing resources, relationship, and awareness so that foster, adoptive, and kinship families thrive.

Our Vision

Our vision is for every child in the foster system to have a well-supported, permanent home where they are safe, valued, and loved.

Core Values

At BCS Together, our work with foster, adoptive, kinship, and biological families is grounded in the following core values. These guide our decisions, shape our culture, and define how we serve.

We believe everyone deserves to be treated with respect, compassion, and fairness. We honor the inherent worth of every individual, regardless of their past, circumstances, or challenges. In every interaction, we create space where voices are heard, stories are valued, and people feel seen and supported.

We are committed to delivering high-quality services and programs, continually learning and improving to better serve the families and children who depend on us. We hold ourselves accountable to the highest standards, knowing that excellence matters when lives and futures are at stake.

We give freely of our time, resources, and care, believing that generosity has the power to change lives. Whether through a listening ear, shared expertise, or tangible support, we show up with open hands and open hearts for the families and children we serve.

We believe that meaningful, lasting impact comes through working together, not working alone. We prioritize collaboration with families, agencies, volunteers, and community partners, knowing that shared efforts and combined strengths can achieve far more than any one group can on its own.

We use our words to uplift, affirm, and inspire. Whether we’re talking with a child, a caregiver, a colleague, or a community member, we aim to speak with kindness, honesty, and hope — recognizing the power of words to build confidence, heal wounds, and create possibility.
