In 2016, our lives changed forever when we became a foster family for a 2-year-old little girl.

After adjusting to being first time parents while seeing the deep impact of trauma on everyone involved, we realized the importance of having the support of a loving community. Two and a half years (and one adoption) later, we became foster parents for a second time - this time to a newborn baby boy. Thrown into a completely different situation, we came to understand the role of the biological family and the complex relationships that can exist as we try to show love and respect. We learned the importance of coming alongside these kids and their families from prevention to permanency.

We are so blessed to have become a forever family in 2020 with the adoption of our son, and to continue sharing encouragement with others through our journey and our work at BCS Together.

Our Mission

BCS Together partners with the Church and community to tangibly support kids and families in the foster system while advocating to keep the biological family together.

Our Vision

Our vision is for every child in the foster system to have a well-supported, permanent home where they are safe, valued, and loved.

WHO WE SERVE

Biological Families: Families who are referred by Child Protective Services who need resources to meet State-required mandates to care for their children.

Kinship Families: Families or close friends who unexpectedly take in a child impacted by the foster care system.

Foster Families: Families who have gone through training and home studies to qualify to care for foster children.

Adoptive Families: Families who have adopted children from the foster system, privately or internationally.

Kids Without Placement: Typically teens who have spent the majority of their lives in the foster care system. They need rehabilitative help from treatment centers and psychiatric facilities - both of which are closing down or don’t have enough beds.
